Each artist is taking WWII-era photos that they’ve found at flea markets and locating the site where the snapshots were taken. Then they’re taking a photo of the modern day site and overlaying the old photos into the scene to create eerie but really cool “ghost photos.”
Each one is mind-boggling when you realize, that modern shopper is literally standing next to the spot the occupation forces stood.
This is eerily striking.
I know that my last ‘recent photos’ post was in July. My only real excuse is that I’ve moved across a continent since then, and have, for the most part, had way too many things related to that going on to pursue my photography habit to any real extent.
LAME, I know. If anything, moving across the country should have given me many more things to take pictures of! And it probably did. But I was too lame to take many pictures of them. :)
ANYWAY, believe it or not I have actually taken some photos during the last few months, just not frequently enough to warrant posting about it. They have all been noted in my changelog and posted to flickr though, if you are interested.
I am going to try harder though. I’ve thrown good money at this problem, so expect it to get better. Any. Time. Now.
So without further ado, here are some of my favorite photos I’ve taken in the last week. With my old camera, even. See! I’m doing better already!
PDX Image Makers’ 2010 Holiday Photo Walk
I am super behind on all posting, still. My scanner is long since packed and on its way to Portland and I’ve been just plain lazy about getting pictures onto my computer and my website.
That doesn’t mean I haven’t been taking pictures of course! Here’s some proof:
Next week I plan to be in cross country transit, so at least I’ll have a good excuse for not posting for a little while :)
I’ve been so tied up with packing that I’ve been remiss in my posting obligations… you should probably expect more of the same in the coming weeks whilst I complete my cross-country move :)
More of the same.
