An alternate way to display archives in PSG- just include it along with psg.php, add a few lines of code, and you can browse archives by month (similar to most other blogging software).

I am now an official PSG developer, so this, along with other changes I’ve made, have been incorporated into the main codebase. It would be wise to simply install a recent version, instead of applying the module here as-is.

This is only provided here for historical purposes.

    Hi there,
it seems PSG is ended, right ?
I think I’m going to fix the few bugs that are blocking me and use it anyway.
I have the version 13 something. Is that the latest release available ?
    Thanks :)
    Tristan.

I don’t think anyone’s officially ended it, but it doesn’t look like anyone else has worked on it in a few years either.

The Savannah page (with CVS) is here: https://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/psg I’d recommend getting the latest CVS ( `cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.savannah.nongnu.org:/sources/psg co psg` should hopefully work) if you are going to do any modifications.

Thanks very much for your answer !

When I say end I meant that the projectsteveguttenberg.com website had vanished and I couldn’t find any release on savannah (just source code repository or something).
I went to the wayback machine but I don’t know why, my comments I made on projectsteveguttenberg.com’s latest post are not there.
Do you have a way to recover them ? Because I remember having spotted one or two bugs that I now would like to fix for my personal use (I think it had something to do with Unicode and also the RSS feeds being corrupt).

Are there many differences betwenn the latest available released version which I kept aside (psg-1.13.0.tar.gz, I can give it to you if you want) and the latest CVS ?
Because I really don’t know how to use CVS and maybe I wouldn’t have time to learn that nor to install it…

Another parallel question (your comments system is really great)
The comments/posts URL are like …/psg.php?op=comments&id=1271696381 but the monthly archive URL are like ../psg.php/month.etc..
Would it be possible to have a ?op=archive type URL by tweaking something ?
    :)

Setting the ‘urltype’ preference to ‘friendly’ should do it.

Thanks for your answer but I was looking for the opposite of friendly url. I wanted the monthly archive to have the same pattern like op=something&etc=etc. urls.
But maybe that’s a bad idea for search engines actually…
In fact I’d like a friendly url but not “index.php/something/” which looks quite strange.
I hope I will manage to modify psg without too much difficulty because in three days blogger ftp is no more..
